Leadership Styles

Lesson Goal: Learn how to listen for opinions and key vocabulary related to workplace management and teamwork.

Listening to Opinions at Work

When colleagues talk about work, they often share their opinions about leadership. A good leader can boost a team's morale (happiness and confidence), while a bad leader can ruin it.

Listen for specific verbs that describe what a boss does. Do they delegate (share the work), or do they micromanage (control every little detail)? Understanding these terms will help you understand if your coworkers are happy or frustrated with their manager!

Go to the next card to learn the business vocabulary, then listen to Sarah and Mike's conversation in the Listen tab!
