Lesson Goal: Learn how to listen for business strategies, target audiences, and problem-solving ideas in a corporate meeting.

Listening for Strategy

In business meetings, colleagues discuss problems and suggest solutions. You must listen carefully for cause and effect.

When a manager describes a problem, listen for the proposed strategy to fix it. If the problem is that young people don't know the brand, the strategy might be to use social media instead of traditional TV commercials. Pay attention to how people agree or disagree with these strategies.
