At the Doctor's Clinic

Understanding a diagnosis and medical instructions.

Lesson Goal: Learn how to listen specifically for symptoms and important instructions (like how to take medicine) during a doctor's visit.

Listening for Instructions

Going to the doctor in a foreign language can be stressful. The most important thing is to listen clearly to the doctor's diagnosis (what is wrong) and their instructions.

When the doctor tells you how to take your medicine, listen for numbers and time words. For example, "one pill", "three times a day", and "after food". These are the critical details you must understand to get better!

Go to the next tab to learn the medical vocabulary, then listen to the conversation between the doctor and patient in the Practice tab!
