Lesson 23: The Lost Tourist

🎧 Listening Lab
Level 2

The Lost Tourist

Navigating a city and understanding complex directions.

Lesson Goal: Learn how to listen carefully to spoken directions and follow sequential steps (First, Then, Next).

Listening to Directions

When someone gives you directions, they will usually give you a series of steps. You do not need to memorize every word. You just need to listen for the Verbs (the action you must take) and the Landmarks (the places you will see).

Common direction verbs include Turn, Go straight, Cross, and Walk past. If you miss a step, it is perfectly okay to ask them to repeat it!

Go to the next tab to learn the direction vocabulary, then listen to the conversation between the Tourist and the Local in the Practice tab!
