Navigating the Airport
When you step into a busy airport terminal, you are surrounded by noise, crowds, and hundreds of signs. In this high-pressure environment, you do not have time to read every single word on the large electronic displays.
To find your flight, you must use scanning. Your eyes need to jump quickly across the screen to find your specific Flight Number (like BA 249) or your Destination. Once you spot that row, you scan across to check if the status is delayed, and find out which gate you need to walk to.
You use this exact same skill when looking at your boarding pass to find your seat number. Go to the next tab to learn the essential airport vocabulary, and then test your skills in the Practice tab!
