Meeting New People
Listening for basic information.
Lesson Goal: Learn how to listen carefully for specific details like names and locations during a short conversation.
Listening for Keywords
When you meet someone new, you don't need to understand every single word they say. The most important skill is listening for keywords.
In English, speakers usually emphasize the most important words in a sentence. When someone asks "What is your name?" or "Where are you from?", you should listen specifically for nouns: Names of people and Names of places.
