Lesson 09: Object Query (Lost & Found)

📌 Reading Lab
Notices
Lesson Goal: Practice scanning for specific details on public community boards.

Community Boards

When you walk into a supermarket, a school, or a cafe, you will often see a physical community notice board. These boards are filled with papers about lost pets, items for sale, or local events.

Because there are so many different papers overlapping each other, you must use a skill called scanning. You don't read every single word. Instead, you look for big, bold text, phone numbers, prices, or pictures to quickly find what you are looking for. For example, if you find someone's keys, you scan the board quickly for the word "LOST". If you are looking to buy a cheap bicycle, you scan the board for prices like "$15" or words like "SALE".

Go to the next tab to learn the vocabulary, then test your scanning skills in the Practice tab!
