Powerful Memory

យុទ្ធសាស្ត្រចងចាំវាក្យសព្ទប្រកបដោយប្រសិទ្ធភាព

Stop reading words over and over! Use Active Recall and Spaced Repetition.

ឈប់អានពាក្យដដែលៗទៀតទៅ! ត្រូវប្រើប្រាស់ "ការរំលឹកឡើងវិញដោយសកម្ម" និង "ការរំលឹកតាមចន្លោះពេលកំណត់" ទើបឆាប់ចាំ។
bolt

Active Recall bolt

ការរំលឹកឡើងវិញដោយសកម្ម
What is it? Instead of just reading a translation, you force your brain to retrieve the information from scratch. Flashcards are perfect for this! (ជំនួសឲ្យការអានចម្លើយ អ្នកត្រូវបង្ខំខួរក្បាលឲ្យទាញយកចម្លើយចេញមកដោយខ្លួនឯង!)
Retrieve (Verb) /rɪˈtriːv/ To find and bring back information. ទាញយកទិន្នន័យ (ពីការចងចាំ) / នឹកឃើញ
Prompt (Noun/Verb) /prɒmpt/ A cue that helps you remember. តម្រុយ / ការដាស់តឿនឱ្យនឹកឃើញ
calendar_month

Spaced Repetition calendar_month

ការរំលឹកតាមចន្លោះពេលកំណត់ (SRS)
The Forgetting Curve You review words just before you are about to forget them. Intervals get longer over time: 1 day ➔ 3 days ➔ 1 week ➔ 1 month. (ការរំលឹកពាក្យនៅពេលដែលអ្នកជិតភ្លេចវា ដោយពន្យារចន្លោះពេលយូរទៅៗ)
Interval (Noun) /ˈɪntərvəl/ A period of time between events. ចន្លោះពេល
Decay (Verb/Noun) /dɪˈkeɪ/ To slowly break down or fade away. ថយចុះ / រលុបបាត់បន្តិចម្តងៗ (ការចងចាំ)
extension

Memory Mechanics extension

យន្តការនៃការចងចាំ
Retention (Noun) /rɪˈtɛnʃən/ The ability to keep something in memory. ការរក្សាទុក / ការចងចាំបានយូរ
Consolidate (Verb) /kənˈsɒlɪdeɪt/ To make something stronger or more solid. ពង្រឹង (ការចងចាំ) / ធ្វើឲ្យរឹងមាំ
Cognitive load (Noun) /ˈkɒgnɪtɪv loʊd/ The amount of mental effort being used. បន្ទុកនៃការគិត / កម្លាំងខួរក្បាលដែលប្រើ
warning Illusion of Competence!

Don't trick yourself!

(ការបំភាន់ភាពចេះដឹង! កុំបោកខ្លួនឯងថាចេះដោយគ្រាន់តែអាន!)
Passive Reading close
Looking at a word and its meaning and thinking "Oh, I know that". (គ្រាន់តែអានហើយគិតថាខ្លួនឯងចេះ)
Active Recall check
Covering the meaning and forcing your brain to remember it. (បិទចម្លើយ រួចប្រឹងនឹកវាចេញមក)

Yes, exactly! Anki is famous for its Spaced Repetition System (SRS). It automatically calculates the "intervals" for you based on how hard or easy it was for you to "retrieve" the word. smartphonebar_chart

Why do I always forget words a few days after my test?

Because you probably "crammed" (studied everything in one night)! Cramming puts a high "cognitive load" on your brain but doesn't "consolidate" the memory. Memory "decay" happens very quickly if you don't use spaced intervals. trending_down

Is reading an English book considered Active Recall?

Not usually! Reading is mostly "passive exposure". The words are giving you a "prompt", so your brain doesn't have to work hard to retrieve the meaning from scratch. It is great for context, but you still need to test yourself actively! menu_bookbolt
