Hi Sokha! It is highly recommended to AVOID phrasal verbs in formal academic writing like IELTS Task 2. Instead of "look into", use "investigate". Instead of "put off", use "postpone". It increases your vocabulary score! edit_document

It depends on the company culture! With close coworkers, "Okay" is fine. But if you are emailing a new client or the CEO, using "Acceptable", "Satisfactory", or simply "Understood" is much safer and more professional. work

Excellent history question! English has a mix of Anglo-Saxon roots (which gave us the short, informal, everyday words) and Latin/French roots (which gave us the long, formal, academic words used by the ancient upper class). That's why we have "Start" vs "Commence"! menu_book
