They are "informal reductions" of words (want to / going to), not exactly slang, but they are very common in spoken English! You shouldn't write them in formal essays though. edit_document

Usually NO! Keep it professional unless your workplace is very casual. Words like "My bad" might be okay for a small mistake, but you shouldn't tell your boss their presentation was "sick". sentiment_very_satisfied
