Building an Essay

An essay is like a building. It needs a strong foundation, walls, and a roof.

1. Introduction (សេចក្តីផ្តើម)

2. Body Paragraph 1 (តួសេចក្តីទី១)

3. Body Paragraph 2 (តួសេចក្តីទី២)

4. Body Paragraph 3 (តួសេចក្តីទី៣)

5. Conclusion (សេចក្តីបញ្ចប់)

🏗️ 1. The Introduction

សេចក្តីផ្តើម

This is the foundation. You must grab the reader's attention and state your main argument.

• The Hook: Catch their interest!
• Background: Give a little context.
• The Thesis Statement: The main idea of the entire essay.

Thesis Example:
"Learning English is important because it helps with travel, career growth, and brain health."

🧱 2. Body Paragraphs

តួសេចក្តី (ជាធម្មតាមាន ២ ទៅ ៣កថាខណ្ឌ)

These are the walls. They hold up your thesis. Each paragraph must focus on ONE idea.

• Topic Sentence: Tells the reader what this specific paragraph is about.
• Details & Examples: Prove your point.
• Concluding Sentence: Wraps up the paragraph.

Topic Sentence Example:
"First, speaking English makes traveling the world much easier."

🏠 3. The Conclusion

This is the roof. You bring everything together and close the essay.

• Restate the Thesis: Say your main idea again, but use different words.
• Summarize: Briefly remind the reader of your main body points.
• Final Thought: Leave the reader with something to think about.

Restated Thesis Example:
"In conclusion, English is a valuable skill for tourism, work, and mental fitness."

The Conclusion Trap!

Do NOT add new information!
