A synonym is a word that means the exact same (or nearly the same) as another word. We use them to make our English sound more advanced and natural!

Synonym គឺជាពាក្យដែលមានន័យដូចគ្នា ឬស្រដៀងគ្នា។ យើងប្រើវាដើម្បីកុំឲ្យនិយាយពាក្យដដែលៗច្រើនដងពេក ដែលធ្វើឲ្យភាសាអង់គ្លេសរបស់យើងស្តាប់ទៅកាន់តែពីរោះ និងមានកម្រិតខ្ពស់។

Synonyms are not always exact twins.

(ប្រយ័ត្ន! ទោះបីជាពាក្យមានន័យដូចគ្នាក៏ដោយ ក៏ពេលខ្លះយើងមិនអាចប្រើវាជំនួសគ្នានៅគ្រប់កាលៈទេសៈបាននោះទេ។)

"Tall" and "High" mean the same thing, but...

A tall man. / A high mountain. ✅

A high man. ❌

(We don't use 'high' for people's height!)

Hi Panha! No, please be careful! 😅 Some synonyms have slightly different "feelings" or connotations. For example, "slender" means nicely thin, but "skinny" can sound unhealthy. It is better to use 2-3 new synonyms you understand perfectly than 10 words you aren't sure about! 📝
