Storytelling Art
At C2, you don't just report facts. You captivate your audience and make them feel the experience.
Show, Don't Tell 👁️
Use sensory words (sight, sound, smell, touch) to paint a picture in the listener's mind instead of just stating an emotion.
Pacing & Pauses ⏱️
Nothing." (ប្រើប្រយោគខ្លីៗជាប់ៗគ្នា ដើម្បីបង្កើតសន្ទុះ និងភាពតានតឹង។)
The Emotional Arc 📈
Don't drown the story in details!
"So I woke up at 7, brushed my teeth, put on my blue shirt, ate toast, and then the tiger attacked."
"It was a totally normal Tuesday morning... until the tiger attacked."

It's all in the delivery and emotional stakes! Focus on the *details*. Instead of "I bought fish," say: "The smell of fresh rain mixed with the chaotic shouting of fish vendors. I was on a mission to find the perfect catch." Build an arc even for small things! 🐟
How do I not sound fake or too dramatic when doing this in English?
Authenticity is key. Match your tone to your audience. You wouldn't tell a story to your boss the same way you tell it to your best friend over coffee. Use emphasis and pacing naturally, don't force a theatrical voice. 🎙️
Is it okay to exaggerate or use "Hyperbole" in storytelling?
Yes! Hyperbole is fantastic for comedic or dramatic effect, AS LONG AS the audience knows you are stylizing the story. Saying "I waited for a million years" is much better than "I waited 30 minutes" when you want to show frustration! ⏳🔥
What if my story is just naturally boring? How do I make a trip to the market sound interesting?
