When we tell a story about the past, we need to use Past Tense Verbs and Sequence Words to keep things in order.

នៅពេលរៀបរាប់រឿងរ៉ាវក្នុងអតីតកាល យើងត្រូវប្រើកិរិយាសព្ទអតីតកាល (Past Tense) និងពាក្យភ្ជាប់លំដាប់លំដោយ (Sequence Words) ដើម្បីឱ្យរឿងមានលំដាប់លំដោយល្អ។

Teacher, how do I pronounce "Next"? It is hard to say 'x' and 't' together.

Hi Sovan! That is very common. The 'x' makes a /ks/ sound, so "next" is /nɛkst/. Don't worry if the 't' is very quiet when you speak fast. Just make sure to say the /s/ sound clearly! 🗣️

Good question! They mean exactly the same thing. We use different words so our story doesn't sound boring. If you say "Then... then... then...", it sounds repetitive. Mix them up! 📝
