How to do it Method Read titles, subtitles, and the first sentence of paragraphs. អានចំណងជើង និងប្រយោគដំបូងនៃកថាខណ្ឌនីមួយៗ។

When to use it Context Looking at a newspaper, magazine, or browsing a website. ពេលមើលកាសែត ទស្សនាវដ្តី ឬមើលវេបសាយត្រួសៗ។

Scanning 🔍

អានរាវរកព័ត៌មានជាក់លាក់ (អានលឿនណាស់)

Purpose Goal To find a specific piece of information. ដើម្បីស្វែងរកព័ត៌មានណាមួយដែលជាក់លាក់។

How to do it Method Move eyes quickly over the text looking for keywords or numbers. រំកិលភ្នែកលឿនៗលើអត្ថបទ ដើម្បីរកពាក្យគន្លឹះ ឬតួលេខ។

When to use it Context Finding a phone number, checking a bus schedule, or looking for a price. ពេលរកលេខទូរស័ព្ទ មើលកាលវិភាគឡានក្រុង ឬមើលតម្លៃទំនិញ។

Intensive Reading 🧐

អានលម្អិតដើម្បីយល់ស៊ីជម្រៅ (អានយឺត)

Purpose Goal To understand the complete meaning and all details. ដើម្បីយល់ពីអត្ថន័យទាំងស្រុង និងព័ត៌មានលម្អិតទាំងអស់។

How to do it Method Read slowly, carefully, word by word. Re-read if necessary. អានយឺតៗ ដោយប្រុងប្រយ័ត្នពាក្យមួយៗ។ អានឡើងវិញប្រសិនបើចាំបាច់។

When to use it Context Reading a legal contract, study materials, or medicine instructions. ពេលអានកិច្ចសន្យា ឯកសារសិក្សា ឬការណែនាំអំពីការប្រើថ្នាំ។

The Speed Trap!

Hi Vireak! Mostly, yes! In English writing, the main idea of a paragraph is usually in the first sentence (the topic sentence). So reading just the headings and first sentences gives you the whole picture very quickly. 📖

Try using your finger or a pen to guide your eyes! Force your eyes to follow the pen downwards. Don't look at the meaning of words, just look for the specific shape of the word or number you need. 🖊️

You need to mix strategies! First, Skim the chapter to understand the layout. Then, Intensive read only the important paragraphs. You don't need to read every single example deeply. ⚡
