Reading fluency means reading smoothly, at a good speed, and with the right expression. It flows like a river!

Rule 1: Chunking view_module

ការផ្តុំពាក្យជាក្រុម (អានមួយដង្ហើមៗ)

Do not read word... by... word.

កុំអានមួយពាក្យម្តងៗ។ ត្រូវរៀនផ្តុំពាក្យដែលទាក់ទងគ្នាទៅជាក្រុមតូចៗ (Chunks)។

I go / to the store / every day. ខ្ញុំទៅ / ហាង / រាល់ថ្ងៃ។

My friend / likes to play / football. មិត្តភក្តិខ្ញុំ / ចូលចិត្តលេង / បាល់ទាត់។

Rule 2: Punctuation pause_circle

ការផ្អាកតាមសញ្ញាខណ្ឌ

Comma ( , ) = Short pause. Period ( . ) = Long pause.

សញ្ញាក្បៀស (,) ត្រូវដកដង្ហើមខ្លី។ សញ្ញាខណ្ឌ (.) ត្រូវដកដង្ហើមវែងបន្តិច និងដាក់សំឡេងចុះ។

In the morning, I drink coffee. នៅពេលព្រឹក ខ្ញុំផឹកកាហ្វេ។

He bought apples, bananas, and milk. គាត់បានទិញផ្លែប៉ោម ចេក និងទឹកដោះគោ។

Rule 3: Word Stress equalizer

ការសង្កត់សំឡេងលើពាក្យសំខាន់ៗ

Stress Nouns, Verbs, and Adjectives.

សង្កត់សំឡេងលើពាក្យដែលមានន័យសំខាន់ៗ (នាម, កិរិយាសព្ទ, គុណនាម)។ ពាក្យតូចៗដូចជា in, at, the មិនបាច់សង្កត់ទេ។

The big dog ran to the house. ឆ្កែធំមួយក្បាលបានរត់ទៅផ្ទះ។

She read a great book yesterday. នាងបានអានសៀវភៅដ៏ល្អមួយកាលពីម្សិលមិញ។

Hi Makara! A very common mistake is thinking "Fluency = Fast". This is not true! Fluency is about SMOOTHNESS. Slow down. Focus on chunking the words and stressing the right ones. It is better to read slowly and clearly than fast and with mistakes. water
