A2 Lesson 2: Long Vowels

Goal: Identify words where the vowel "Says its Name" (Long Sound), using Silent E and Vowel Teams.

1. Key Vocabulary

Short Vowel
Short Sound សំឡេងខ្លី (ex: Apple)
Long Vowel
Long Sound សំឡេងវែង (Says name: A, E, I)
Silent E
Silent E E មិនបញ្ចេញសំឡេង

2. The "Magic E"

The E at the end is silent. It uses magic to make the other vowel say its name.

3. Vowel Teams

When two vowels go walking, the first one does the talking (and says its name).
