Hello! We've learned about nouns (naming words). Now, let's learn about special words that can take the place of nouns. These are called pronouns.
Today, we'll start with two very important pronouns: I and you. These are called subject pronouns because they often do the action in a sentence.
What are "I" and "You"?
We use I when you are talking about yourself.
I am a student.
I like pizza.
My name is David. I am from England.
We use you when you are talking to someone directly. "You" can mean one person or more than one person.
You are my friend.
Are you happy?
(To a group) You are all good students.
Using "I" and "you" helps us avoid repeating names and makes talking easier!

Activity 1: Who is Speaking or Being Spoken To?
Read the situation. Click "I" if the person is talking about themselves. Click "You" if the person is talking to someone else.
1. Maria says, "___ am seven years old."
2. Tom is talking to his friend Sam. Tom says, "___ are a good football player, Sam."
3. A teacher asks a student, "Can ___ help me with this?"
Activity 2: Complete the Dialogue
Choose "I" or "You" to complete the short dialogues.
Anna: Hello! My name is Anna. What is your name?
Ben: Hi Anna! am Ben.
Teacher: Lisa, did very well on the test!
Lisa: Thank you! studied hard.
💡 Quick Tip: "I" is always about me (the speaker). "You" is always about the person (or people) I am talking to.
Remember, "I" is always written as a capital letter!
