The dry season in Ratanakiri brings thousands of tourists to the beautiful Yeak Laom volcanic lake. While the visitors enjoy the cool water, Tola, the local lake ranger, has his hands full. He spends his days managing crowds and protecting the forest.

One afternoon, Tola was walking along the wooden path when he saw his friend, Ravy. Ravy is a talented artisan who weaves complex rattan baskets. She was sitting quietly under a tree, staring at the water without her usual weaving tools.

"She must be exhausted," Tola thought to himself. "The market demands have been so high lately. Her hands might be aching from all that weaving."

He walked over and sat next to her. "You look completely overwhelmed," he said gently. Ravy sighed. "I am. I've been working late every night to finish orders. The pressure is a major trigger for my stress. I feel like I'm close to burnout."

"You can't keep working like that, Ravy. You need a good coping mechanism," Tola advised. "When I feel stressed by the crowds, I come to this quiet side of the lake to unwind and meditate for ten minutes. It really helps me clear my head."

Ravy smiled weakly. "That's why I came here today. I needed to take a breather and try to be more mindful of my limits. Sometimes you just have to step away to let off steam."

Tola nodded. "Exactly. The baskets can't be finished if you are too sick to work. The lake has a way of healing us. We must remember to use it."

My friends told me I might get burnout if I don't stop. So, I found a new coping mechanism. After work, I walk by the lake to unwind. I know you work hard too. You can't be perfectly fine without a break. Remember to take a breather!

Talk soon,
