Ordering a Coffee

Practice ordering drinks and food at a café.

Lesson Goal: Learn how to listen to the Barista's questions and order your own coffee and snacks.

Listening at the Café

Ordering coffee in English can be very fast. The person working at the café (the Barista) will ask you three quick questions:

1. "What would you like?" (What do you want to drink? Tell them the size: Small, Medium, or Large).
2. "Hot or iced?" (Do you want it warm or cold?).
3. "Anything to eat?" (Do you want food with your coffee?).

Go to the next tab to learn the basic café vocabulary, then listen to the customer order their breakfast in the Practice tab!
