Future Forms

Mystic Predictions

Understanding the different ways we talk about the future.

Grammar Goal: Learn when to use Will, Going to, and Might to talk about future events.

Predicting the Future

In English, we don't have just one future tense. We choose different words depending on how certain we are about what will happen!

  • Will + Verb: We use "will" for facts, promises, or sudden decisions. (e.g., "You will meet a stranger.")
  • Be Going To + Verb: We use "going to" when we have evidence or a plan. (e.g., "Look at those clouds. It is going to rain.")
  • Might + Verb: We use "might" when we are not 100% sure. It means maybe it will happen, maybe it won't. (e.g., "You might win the lottery.")
