Describing Appearance
Listening for physical descriptions.
Lesson Goal: Learn how to listen for specific adjectives and nouns when someone is describing what a person looks like.
Listening for Features
When someone tells you about a friend or family member, they often describe their appearance. To understand them, you need to listen for two types of words:
First, listen for Nouns (the body parts or items). This includes words like hair, eyes, or glasses.
Second, listen for the Adjectives that describe those nouns. Is the person tall or short? Is their hair brown, black, or blonde?
