At the Supermarket

Asking for help finding items in a store.

Lesson Goal: Learn how to listen for specific locations and directions when shopping.

Listening for Directions

When you are in a large supermarket, it is easy to get lost. The fastest way to find what you need is to politely ask a store employee for help.

When the employee answers, you don't need to understand every word. You just need to listen for the Target Vocabulary. Listen carefully for words like Aisle (a walkway between shelves), Front, Back, or specific sections like the Bakery.

Go to the next tab to learn the shopping vocabulary, then listen to the conversation between the shopper and the employee in the Practice tab!
