Before You Start 🧠

Key Vocabulary (Click 🔊)

Let's learn these two important words for today's lesson.

Joining Word
| ឈ្នាប់ (Conjunction)
A word that connects other words or sentences (e.g., and, but, or).
Sentence
| ប្រយោគ
A complete thought with a subject and a verb (e.g., "She reads.").

Why Use "and"?

Using and helps make your writing sound smoother and more natural. It stops your writing from being short and "choppy."

CHOPPY choppy choppy choppy... 🥶

I like coffee. I like tea.

SMOOTH! ✨

I like coffee and tea.

How to Use "and"

We use and to join two similar or related ideas. Here are the most common ways.

Rule 1: Joining Two Sentences

You can join two complete, similar sentences.

(He is tall.) + (He is strong.)
→ He is tall and he is strong.
Rule 2: Joining Two Nouns (Better!)

If the subject is the same, just join the objects (nouns).

(I like pizza.) + (I like burgers.)
→ I like pizza and burgers.
Rule 3: Joining Two Verbs (Better!)

If the subject is the same, just join the actions (verbs).

(He runs.) + (He jumps.)
→ He runs and jumps.
