The "Very" Trap!

Don't use "very" with extreme adjectives!

(កុំប្រើពាក្យ "very" ជាមួយគុណនាមដែលបញ្ជាក់ពីកម្រិតខ្លាំងបំផុតរួចទៅហើយ (Extreme Adjectives)!)

Very boiling / Very devastated ❌
"Boiling" already means "very hot". You can't say "very very hot".

Absolutely boiling / Completely devastated ✅
Use adverbs like "absolutely" or "completely" for extreme adjectives instead.

"Gradable" means there are different levels or "grades". For example, you can be a little cold, very cold, or freezing. So "cold" is gradable! But you cannot be "a little dead"—you are either dead or alive. So "dead" is absolute! 🌡️

No, you shouldn't! "Terrified" already means "very scared". It is an extreme adjective. Instead of "very", use words like "absolutely" or "completely" terrified. 😱

The opposite is "Landlord" (ម្ចាស់ផ្ទះជួល)! This is a perfect example of a Relational Antonym, just like employer/employee! You can't have a tenant without a landlord! 🏠
