When you see a new word, be a detective before using a dictionary!

1. Look around Read the sentence before and after the unknown word. មើលប្រយោគខាងមុខ និងខាងក្រោយ។

2. Part of Speech Is it an action (verb)? A thing (noun)? A description (adjective)? កំណត់ថ្នាក់ពាក្យ (នាម, កិរិយា, គុណនាម...)។

3. Signal Words Look for "but", "because", or "like" to guess the meaning. ស្វែងរកពាក្យតភ្ជាប់ដែលបញ្ជាក់ន័យផ្ទុយ ឬស្រដៀង។

Hi Sok! That means the book is too hard. Choose an easier book! Try "Graded Readers" at the B1 or B2 level. You should know about 95% of the words on a page for Extensive Reading to work. Reading should be fun, not a chore! menu_book

Don't focus on a number! Focus on exposure. If you read widely, you will naturally learn the words that matter most because they will repeat over and over again. Just aim for 15-20 minutes of reading a day. timer
