close Error: Mixed up 2nd and 3rd Conditionals. "Had money" is present/general, so the result must be present/future.

close Error: Modals (must, should, might) are ALWAYS followed by the base verb "have". Never "has" or "had".

Don't glue full sentences with a comma.

(កុំប្រើត្រឹមសញ្ញាក្បៀស ដើម្បីភ្ជាប់ប្រយោគពេញលេញពីរចូលគ្នាជាមួយពាក្យដូចជា however, therefore។ ត្រូវប្រើ Semicolon!)

Hi Serey! The best trick is the "Period Test." Look at the words before the comma. Can they stand alone as a complete sentence? Now look at the words after the comma. Can they stand alone? If BOTH sides can be full sentences, you CANNOT use a comma to link them! Use a period or a semicolon. 📝

Why is it so bad to translate directly from Khmer in my head?

Because languages have different structures! For example, in Khmer we say "ខ្ញុំមានអាយុ ២០ ឆ្នាំ" (I have 20 years). But in English, age is a state of being, not a possession, so it must be "I AM 20 years old". Translating directly leads to grammatical errors. Try to think in English structures! 💡
