We use Comparative Adjectives to compare TWO things.
យើងប្រើគុណនាមប្រៀបធៀប ដើម្បីប្រៀបធៀបវត្ថុ មនុស្ស ឬទីកន្លែងចំនួនពីរ។
straighten
Rule 1: Short Words (1 Syllable)
straighten Add "-er"
គុណនាមខ្លី (១ ព្យាង្គ): ថែម -er
tall ➔ taller
ខ្ពស់ ➔ ខ្ពស់ជាង
old ➔ older
ចាស់ ➔ ចាស់ជាង
fast ➔ faster
លឿន ➔ លឿនជាង
cheap ➔ cheaper
ថោក ➔ ថោកជាង

Rule 2: Spelling Changes

Double the last letter (CVC):
big ➔ bigger
ធំ ➔ ធំជាង
hot ➔ hotter
ក្តៅ ➔ ក្តៅជាង
Change 'y' to 'i' + er:
happy ➔ happier
សប្បាយចិត្ត ➔ សប្បាយចិត្តជាង
busy ➔ busier
រវល់ ➔ រវល់ជាង

Rule 3: Long Words (2+ Syllables)
auto_awesome Use "More"
គុណនាមវែង: ប្រើពាក្យ more នៅពីមុខ

The Grammar Trap!
1. Don't use BOTH!

Ah! Great question, Nita. Those are irregular words. They don't follow the rules! "Good" becomes "better", and "bad" becomes "worse". We will learn all the irregular words in our next lesson! 🌟
