Hello Learners! 👋
Today, we will practice copying sentences. Copying carefully helps us learn how English sentences look and how to write them correctly.
In this lesson, you will:
- Understand why copying correctly is important.
- Practice copying simple English sentences.
- Pay attention to capital letters, small letters, spaces between words, and punctuation like full stops (.).
Why is Copying Important?
When you copy a sentence, you practice many skills at once:
- Seeing Details: You learn to look closely at each letter and word.
- Spelling: You see how words are spelled correctly.
- Sentence Structure: You see how words are ordered in a sentence.
- Punctuation: You practice using capital letters and full stops.
- Handwriting/Typing: You get better at forming letters or typing them.
The Goal: Make your copy look exactly like the example sentence!
Activity: Copy the Sentences

✨ Tips for Careful Copying ✨
- Look Once, Write Once: Try to look at a whole word (or a small group of words), remember it, and then write it. Then look back to check.
- Letter by Letter: For tricky words, go letter by letter.
- Check Spaces: Make sure there is one space between each word, and no space before a full stop.
- Check Capitals: Is the first letter a capital? Is "I" a capital?
- Check the End Mark: Did you put a full stop (.) at the end? (Or a question mark (?) if it's a question).
- Compare: After you finish, look carefully at your copy and the original. Are they exactly the same?
Excellent Copying! 🎉
You are learning to be a careful writer! Copying correctly is a great skill. Keep practicing!
