try on
To put on clothes in a shop before buying.

Usage Note: "Wear" vs. "Put on"
These two verbs are different and often confuse learners.
- Wear describes the state of having clothes on your body. It happens for a long time.
Example: "Today, I am wearing a blue shirt." - Put on describes the action of placing clothes on your body. It happens in a moment.
Example: "It is cool. I need to put on my jacket."
