Hello Learners! 👋

Exclamation marks help us show strong feelings in our writing.
In this lesson, you will learn:
- What an exclamation mark is and why we use it.
- How to use an exclamation mark at the end of a sentence to show excitement, surprise, or strong feeling.
- To choose the correct end mark for different types of sentences.
What is an Exclamation Mark ! ?
An exclamation mark ! is used at the end of a sentence or a short phrase to show strong emotion. This emotion could be:
- Excitement: "We won the game!"
- Surprise: "What a big dog!"
- Happiness: "I am so happy!"
- Anger or Warning (sometimes): "Stop!" or "Look out!"
- A loud voice: If you want to show someone is shouting.
Short exclamations can also use an exclamation mark: Wow! Great! Oh no!
Remember: An exclamation is different from a simple statement (which ends with a full stop .) or a question (which ends with a question mark ?).

✨ Tips for Using Exclamation Marks ✨
- Think About Feeling: Does the sentence show big surprise, excitement, or happiness? If yes, an exclamation mark might be good.
- Don't Use Too Many: Using too many exclamation marks can make your writing look less serious or too shouty. Use them only when you really want to show strong feeling. One is usually enough!
- Read it Aloud: How would you say the sentence? If you would say it loudly or with a lot of energy, an exclamation mark can show that.
