Core Structural Rule

We use the formula am/is/are + going to + base verb to talk about actions that are already decided before the moment of speaking. This structures your intention clearly for the listener.

រូបមន្តស្នូល៖ ប្រធាន (Subject) + am/is/are + going to + កិរិយាសព្ទដើម (Base Verb) ដើម្បីបញ្ជាក់ពីបំណងច្បាស់លាស់។

warning The "Will" Prior Arrangement Trap

Do not use the word "will" for events that you have already planned or prepared. Reserve "will" for immediate, instant decisions made at the split second of speaking.

(កុំប្រើពាក្យ "will" សម្រាប់រឿងដែលអ្នកបានរៀបចំទុកមុនរួចហើយ ត្រូវប្រើ "be going to"!)

"I bought the tickets. I will fly."

Sounds like a sudden, unplanned thought. Grammatically weak for prior arrangements.

Negative Patterns

Negative Placement Rule:

Always position the word not immediately directly after the auxiliary "be" verb component (am not / isn't / aren't).

I am not going to work tomorrow. Negative Mapping: Subject + am not + going to ខ្ញុំនឹងមិនធ្វើការទេថ្ងៃស្អែក។

He isn't going to come to the party. Contracted Path: isn't = is not គាត់នឹងមិនមកចូលរួមកម្មវិធីជប់លៀងទេ។
