- Find a common name in a list.
Hello Cambodian Learners!
Sometimes, you don't need to read every word in a text. If you are looking for just one piece of information, like your name on a list at school, or a food item on a menu at a restaurant in Battambang, you can "scan"! Scanning is like using your eyes as a spotlight to find what you need quickly.
What is Scanning?
Scanning is when you move your eyes quickly over a text to find a specific word or piece of information.
Imagine you are looking for the word "cat" in this list:
- dog
- cat
- sun
- pen
You don't read every word slowly. Your eyes quickly look for "cat". That's scanning!
