Grammar: Parts of Speech
A1 Lesson 5: Personal Pronouns (I, you)
Why Pronouns Matter
We use special words called pronouns to take the place of nouns. They make our sentences shorter and sound more natural.
Dara is a student. Dara likes English.
My name is Dara. I am a student. I like English.
The Grammar Rules 📖
Today, we will learn the two most important personal pronouns: I and you.
The Pronoun 'I' 🙋
We use I when we talk about ourself. The word 'I' is always a capital letter.
- I am a student in Kampot.
- I like to drink coconut water.
The Pronoun 'you' 👉
We use you when we are talking to another person.
- You are my friend.
- Hello, how are you today?
