Simple Past
| អតីតកាលធម្មតា
A grammar tense used for actions that started and finished in the past (e.g., yesterday, last week).
Weekend
| ចុងសប្តាហ៍
The last two days of the week: Saturday and Sunday.
Regular Verb
| កិរិយាស័ព្ទទៀងទាត់
Verbs that add -ed in the past (e.g., play → played).
Irregular Verb
| កិរិយាស័ព្ទមិនទៀងទាត់
Verbs that change their spelling in the past (e.g., go → went).

Grammar: The Simple Past Tense

To talk about the weekend, you must use the Simple Past tense. This means you change the verb.

1. Regular Verbs (Easy!)

2. Common Irregular Verbs (Must Remember!)

These verbs change completely. You must memorize them.

Using Time Words (Sequencers)

To tell a good story, you must put the actions in order. Use these words at the beginning of your sentences:

  • First, I...
  • Then, I...
  • After that, I...
  • Finally, I...
