Building Blocks for Your Description 🧱
Block 1: Vocabulary for Places (ទីកន្លែង) (Click 🔊)
Here are some common places you can find in a city.
Block 2: Using "There is" and "There are"
We use these phrases to say what exists in a place.
- Use
There is...for ONE thing (singular). - Use
There are...for MANY things (plural).
There is a big park.
There are many nice cafés.
Block 3: Using Adjectives (គុណនាម)
Adjectives make your writing more interesting. They describe the noun.
Boring: There is a market. 😴
Better: There is a big, busy market. 😊
Good adjectives: big, small, new, old, beautiful, nice, friendly, busy
Block 4: Giving a Reason (using "because")
Tell your reader *why* you like your city. Use because to connect your feeling to your reason.
I like my city because it is beautiful.
I like my city because the people are friendly.
