Grammar: The Conjunction 'So'
A2 Lesson 18: Showing Results
Showing the Result ➡️
We use the word so to show the result or consequence of something. It helps us connect a reason to what happens next. The structure is simple:
[The Reason], so [The Result].
'Because' vs. 'So'
'Because' and 'so' are opposites. 'Because' introduces a reason, while 'so' introduces a result. Look how we can express the same idea in two different ways.
We go to the cafe because we are thirsty.
I am tired because I woke up early.
We are thirsty, so we go to the cafe.
I woke up early, so I am tired.
