A1 Grammar: Giving Reasons with "Because"

Objective: Learn how to connect an action and a reason using the word "because".

  • Understand what "because" means.
  • Learn the sentence structure: [Action] + because + [Reason].
  • Practice making simple sentences to explain 'why'.

What is "Because"?

"Because" is a very useful word. We use it to give a reason for something. It answers the question "Why?".

Rule: Action + because + Reason

First, we say what happened (the action). Then, we use "because" to say why it happened (the reason).

ACTION He is wet because REASON it is raining.

He is wet because it is raining.
