2. Grammar: Countable vs. Uncountable Nouns
Nouns are words for people, places, or things. In English, some nouns are countable (you can count them: 1, 2, 3), and some are uncountable (you cannot count them easily).
| Countable Nouns | Uncountable Nouns |
|---|---|
| You can count them: one boat, two boats, three customers. | You cannot count them easily: money, seafood, advice. |
| They can be singular or plural (add -s). | They are always singular (no -s). |
| Use with a/an: a goal, a business. | Do not use with a/an. Use some: some equipment. |
| Ask questions with How many...? | Ask questions with How much...? |
Grammar Practice: Part 1 (Choose the word)
Look at the sentence and type the correct word from the brackets.
Grammar Practice: Part 2 (How much / How many)
